The collection consists of the papers of Donatella Manganotti from 1961-1967. The papers include correspondence, printed material, writings, and audiovisual material. The correspondence consists primarily of letters between Manganotti and William Burroughs between 1961-1965. Manganotti and Burroughs discuss the business and process of translating his work into Italian. There is also a small amount of correspondence between Manganotti and John Calder, Burroughs' publisher. Also included are reviews of many of Burroughs' works, collected and organized by Manganotti. Writings include portions of many of Manganotti's translations of Burroughs' work. The reel-to-reel tape is a compilation of several writers reading their works, including William Burroughs, Charles Bukowski, and Brion Gysin, 1967.

Donatella Manganotti was William Burroughs' Italian translator. She translated several of Burroughs' works, including The Naked Lunch (Il posto nudo, 1964), The Soft Machine (La morbida macchina, 1965), and The Yage Letters (Le Lettere dello Yage: In amazzonia all ricerca di una droga alluncinatoria, 1967).
